I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

Once that is done, give us a ring, whatever the day or time is. We will be with you rapidly to get things sorted.

While waiting, clear away any important things from the area, and wipe up any water or position a bucket to catch any drips. If you’ve turned the mains water off, also switch off the heating for the hot water as well.

Help, I don�t know where the main water shutoff valve is!

You may have been shown it as a stopcock, isolating valve or toby. This valve is normally located on the boundary near the road, usually under a blue or black plastic cover.

Remember, many appliances and fixtures have their own isolating valves as well.
